Journey to London

Last week I spent some days in London. We made some tourism there and visited lots of places. I had been in London years ago, but never more than a day. I used to make trips to London the summers I spent in Scarborough, Cheltenham and Canterbury. So, I hadn't really seen London.

To move us through London we took the Tube. The tickets are exaggeratedly expensive in comparison with the Barcelona ones! And so the meals. Well, it is normal if we compare the salaries in the UK with those in Spain.

Maybe the most exceptional thing that happened to us there was in the return. The conspiracy to blow up planes was revealed the day before our departure (the thing with the liquid explosives seems to be extracted of a 24 plot!). And we had to return to Barcelona by plane. Fortunately our flight was not cancelled and everything went well, in spite of the strict security measures. We couldn't take hand luggage, in the airport they gave us a transparent bag (with advertisements) where we could place our passport and wallet. We also had to pass trough lots of controls: metal detectors, frisks, etc. besides taking off our shoes. At the end, our flight was delayed only for 15 minutes and we arrived happily at our hot and cheap country.
